Left-handed stars Jack Lisowski and Jimmy White go head-to-head in the Last 16 of the German Masters in Berlin on Thursday.

A clash of the generations sees in-form Lisowski bidding to deny the legendary ‘Whirlwind’ a famous victory at the Tempodrom.

Lisowski finds himself presented with arguably one of his best chances to land an elusive maiden ranking title this week in the absence of a host of fellow top 16 stars.

The six-time ranking event finalist put down an early marker by whitewashing Zhang Anda 5-0 in the Last 32 with breaks of 61, 117 and 87 along the way.

Semi-finalist at the UK Championship and The Masters in recent months, Lisowski has been in a rich vein of form under the guidance of former World Champion Peter Ebdon and is bidding to go one better than his runner-up spot here two years ago.

The 31-year-old is protecting an unbeaten record against White, having won all three of their previous meetings, the most recent of which coming in 2017.

At the age of 60, White continues to defy the sands of time and finds himself in the Last 16 of this event for the first time.

The former UK and Masters champion had to win two qualifying matches to secure his place in the main, defeating Mark Joyce and Martin Gould in Leicester last November.

He continued that resurgent form upon his arrival in Berlin, thrashing 21-year-old Peng Yisong 5-1 on Wednesday with top breaks of 55, 82, 63 and 70.

The three-time World Seniors champion is now aiming to book his place in the Quarter-Finals of a ranking event for the first time since the Paul Hunter Classic (also held in Germany) in 2016.

The match gets under way from 7pm GMT and will be contested over the the best of nine frames, with either Xiao Guodong or Elliot Slessor awaiting the winner in the Quarter-Finals.
