Ronnie O’Sullivan produces two 147s at the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters
Ronnie O’Sullivan hit two magical 147 breaks against Chris Wakelin on the way to booking his place in the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters final.
The Rocket achieved perfection in frames one and seven of his 6-3 victory on Friday, pocketing a bonus prize of £147,000 and setting up a showdown with Neil Robertson in the showpiece.
O’Sullivan had gone almost seven years without making a maximum break, last doing so at the 2018 English Open.
However, the seven-time World champion ended the wait in spectacular fashion, taking his career tally to 17 while delighting the crowd at the Green Halls in Jeddah.

The crowd were on their feet in the opening frame as O’Sullivan knocked in a long red before seamlessly clearing to ensure himself a share of the £50,000 with Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, who also hit a 147 against Jordan Brown earlier this week.
The Rocket followed that up with a superb 142 total clearance, though Wakelin responded well with breaks of 70 and 125 as he won three of the next four frames to level at 3-3.
However, O’Sullivan took centre stage once more – this time, securing the bumper £147,000 bonus on offer to any player that makes two maximum breaks across the season’s four majors.
The seven-time Crucible king was also the second player to make two in the same match, after Jackson Page achieved the feat during this year’s World Championship qualifiers.
A run of 67 then put him on the brink of victory, which he sealed with a wonderful 134 total clearance to book his place in a first ranking final in 16 months.

Earlier in the day, Robertson was a 6-3 winner over fellow left-hander Elliot Slessor.
The Thunder hit a top break of 93 on the way to establishing a 4-1 lead over Slessor, who was eyeing his first ranking final appearance.
The next two frames were shared on the pink before the world number 29 kept his hopes alive with a neat 64 clearance.
Slessor had defeated three World champions – John Higgins, Stuart Bingham and Mark Williams – in deciding frames to reach his fifth ranking semi-final.
However, his hopes of claiming the scalp of another were halted as Robertson got over the line with 93.
