Kyren Wilson looks to avoid an upset against 14-year-old Riley Powell when he makes his Snooker Shoot Out return on Thursday.
Reigning European Masters champion Wilson is back in the unique single-frame tournament after a three-year absence, and targeting his second silverware of the campaign.
The Warrior knows what it takes to go deep in this event having reached the semi-finals in 2015, before losing to eventual champion Michael White.
Although, he will be wary of a potential shock as he prepares to face Powell.
The Welsh teenager will hope it is a TV debut to remember as he looks to follow fellow 14-year-old Vladislav Gradinari, who defeated three-time women’s World champion Ng On Yee on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, White is one of five former winners in action on day two at the Morningside Arena; the Welshman faces Mitchell Mann, with 2021 champion Ryan Day playing Jimmy Robertson.
Michael Holt – the winner in 2020 – takes on Lei Peifan, as 2018 champion Michael Georgiou goes head to head with Tian Pengfei and 2014 victor Dominic Dale clashes with Matthew Stevens.
Mark Selby is among the other big names on display. The four-time World champion plays Mark Davis, while Ding Junhui locks horns with compatriot Fan Zhengyi.
Elsewhere, Scottish Open winner Gary Wilson collides with Ricky Walden, as 12-time women’s World champion Reanne Evans and Rebecca Kenna look to earn the scalps of Stuart Bingham and Yuan SiJun respectively.
Play gets underway at 1pm GMT on Thursday with all matches contested over a single frame at the Morningside Arena in Leicester.
