Ronnie O’Sullivan resumes his Xi’an Grand Prix campaign on Tuesday when he takes on Hungarian teenager Bulcsu Revesz.
The Rocket is bidding to become the inaugural champion at the Qujiang E-sports Centre with what would be a record-extending 42nd ranking title.
His quest for a fifth successive Shanghai Masters success were ended at the semi-final stage by Judd Trump last month, with the Ace prevailing a dominant 10-3 victor.
However, O’Sullivan marked his return to China, where he appears to be at his most content on the World Snooker Tour, with victory over Wang Yuchen in his heldover match.
Though far from his best, the seven-time World champion was still far too strong for his opponent from Hong Kong, with runs of 72 and 52 along the way.
Next up for him is a showdown with the reigning WSF World Junior champion in Revesz.
The 17-year-old became Hungary’s first ever professional player by virtue of winning the aforementioned event.
Revesz infamously broke off before watching Shaun Murphy compile the first maximum break in Shoot Out history back in December, and he will certainly be hoping for an opportunity to make a more telling impression against O’Sullivan.
The youngster has already achieved a notable result in his fledgling professional career, whitewashing former UK Championship semi-finalist David Grace to qualify for this tournament.
A last-32 showdown with either Neil Robertson or Yuan Sijun awaits the winner of this clash.
The match gets under way at 12.30pm BST (7.30pm local time) on Tuesday and will be contested over the best of nine frames at Qujiang E-sports Centre.
